HEMPEL PAINTS (BAHRAIN) S.P.C. started in 1969, with an agency agreement, and opened its own office in 1972.

All paints were supplied from Kuwait until rising demand let HEMPEL commission and open a factory in 1979. HEMPEL went from strength to strength because of high product quality and service commitments. By the early 1990s, demand stretched factory capacity and HEMPEL built a new factory that began production in 1996. The new facility’s advanced technology and built-in expansion possibilities will serve the company well into the next century.

In the year 2007, Hempel Paints (Bahrain) S.P.C. merged with Middle East West and changed its legal structure to a single person company (Sole proprietorship) 100% owned by Dahna Paint Middle East Holdings.

Protective Coatings

HEMPEL is the market leader in this area and supplies a full range of high quality epoxies, polyurethanes, zinc-silicates, coal tar epoxies, alkyds, acrylics, and other coating types that are used to protect refineries, chemical plants, pipelines, desalination plants, power plants, ports, tanks, cranes and other structures.

HEMPEL Bahrain also offer technical assistance with painting specifications, technical assistance with painting specifications, technical inspections, customer training, and after sales service. All services are provided by fully FROSIO certified staff. HEMPEL have supplied and supervised many important projects in Bahrain: ASRY dry dock, BAPCO storage tanks, ALBA expansion project, the Meridien and Sheraton hotels, shopping complexes such as Haji Hassan Centre, and most Ministry of Housing projects at Isa Town and Hamad Town.

Research and development is carried out at the HEMPEL Central Research and Development Laboratory in Copenhagen, which is one of the world’s most modern, and at the HEMPEL laboratory in Spain.
